Privacy Policy
Introduction
Discount Bin Stores (“we”, “the site”) is a static directory of bin stores, liquidation stores and Goodwill outlets. This policy explains what data the site handles when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is written to match what the site actually does rather than what a template says.
What we collect
The site has no user accounts, no login, no comments and no client-side analytics or tracking scripts. Pages are plain HTML and CSS served from our own server. The only data generated by a visit is the standard web-server access log: the requested URL, the time, your IP address, the browser's user-agent string and the referring page. Logs are used for capacity planning and abuse prevention and are rotated automatically.
Contact and submission forms
The contact and submit-a-store forms send their contents to our mailbox (hello@discountbinstores.com). We keep those messages for as long as needed to process the request — typically until the listing is published or the question answered — and use the details only to verify and publish store information or to reply to you. Store details you submit (name, address, prices, hours, links) become part of the public directory; your own name and email do not.
Cookies and local storage
The site sets no cookies of its own and does not use local storage. Your browser's light/dark preference is honoured through a CSS media query, which sends nothing to us.
Advertising
Pages contain reserved, clearly labelled advertisement spaces. At present these spaces contain no third-party code and make no network requests. If Google AdSense is enabled in the future, Google may set cookies and use identifiers to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's advertising privacy documentation, and this section will be updated with the specific controls available to you (including opting out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com) before that happens.
Third-party links
Store pages link to stores' own websites, Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, Google Maps and a third-party publisher of Goodwill rotation guides. Those sites have their own privacy policies; we have no control over what they collect once you leave.
Data about stores
Listings contain business information — addresses, phone numbers, hours, prices and publicly posted customer reviews attributed by first name or handle as originally published. If you are a store owner and want a listing corrected, or a reviewer who wants a quoted review removed, contact us and we will act on the next site build.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests can be met by deleting a form email. If you are in a jurisdiction with a statutory right of access, correction or deletion (for example the GDPR or the CCPA), email us and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
Material changes — in particular switching advertising on — will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date before they take effect.
