About Us

Discount Bin Stores is an independent directory of bin stores, Amazon return stores, liquidation outlets and Goodwill bins across the United States — 464 open locations in 48 states, each with its weekday price ladder, hours, address and links on its own page.

Why the site exists

Bin stores are a word-of-mouth business. Prices change every day, restock days move, and most stores announce everything on a Facebook page that is hard to find unless you already follow it. Anyone driving across a state line for a $1 day has had the experience of arriving at a store that closed months ago, or that restocked yesterday and is picked clean. We built the directory to answer the three questions that decide a trip — what does it cost today, when is it open, and where exactly is it — for every store, in one place.

How we collect and verify store data

Every listing starts from the store's own published details and is checked against its website, Facebook page, Google listing and public review sites. Links are only shown as verified when the page matches the store's street address or phone number; links that belong to a parent organisation are labelled as such. Restock days are shown only where a source names one, and the source is cited on the page. Permanently closed stores are marked rather than deleted so that returning shoppers see the status.

Aggregate figures in the guides — the 261 stores with numeric price ladders, the 40 with a sourced restock day, the 120 Goodwill outlets with a rotation guide — are computed by a script from the same data on every build, never typed in by hand. The directory was last refreshed in August 2026. The price ladders in the guides are built the same way: each store's Monday-to-Sunday prices are read from its listing, stores that price per item (“varies”) are excluded, and the medians, most-common values and weekday distributions are recomputed by script on every build — see bin store prices for the method in practice.

What we do not do

We are not affiliated with Amazon, Goodwill Industries or any store listed here, we do not sell merchandise, and we do not hold the contents of third-party rotation guides. Where our data has gaps — a store that prices per item rather than by day, an outlet with no published schedule — the page says so instead of guessing.

Coverage

The largest state directories are Florida (37), California (35), North Carolina (35), Texas (31), Ohio (31). Two states have no verified store yet. If you know of a store we have missed, the submission form takes two minutes, and corrections go through the contact page.
