    • The prices at goodwill bins is so reasonable, but with that being said, we really like going to south Austin location they seem to have some rules for shopping. We have never had a basket when we go, baskets are all taken buy resellers that park baskets up against walls . Keep in mind when you visit , I would wear gloves and a mask, because people are to close when you are looking, no social distancing unless you do it yourself . Be careful if you take a child looking in bins, we came across broken glass because people dig through bins and are not carful when handing things. The employees are very nice.

    • I always find something good here--and a lot of the time, it's something new in original packaging. Avoid the weekends if you want to take your time and actually get a cart (though I haven't been able to get a cart in the past month or two). Yes of course things will be dirty, just wear gloves and be prepared to dig. This is the first place I go when I need a certain type of fabric for tablecloths/reupholstering/blankets/etc. You can also find tables and stools and small furniture in pretty good condition. Go for a browse and get creative! Things I've found: an 8x10 jute rug, a Free People dress, brand new tassel yellow pillow case & insert, butcher block cutting board, and still-wrapped IKEA shelves

    • Ugh, this used to be a great place to shop but it's impossible to get a basket now. People come early and take 4-6 baskets and sit with them all day. There should be a limit on how many baskets each person is allowed or they need to invest in more baskets. There is no way to spend money if you can't shop. They are losing money from shoppers that actually want to purchase the items in their cart. No basket, no money spent.

    • Ok people if you are a thrift store shopper this is definitely for you!!! It is crazy in there so wearing a mask and gloves are very important don't take your children not safe for them! Have fun and wash everything before it enters your home or store!!

    • Great place if you like to dig for treasures in the bins! I can easily spend 4 hours in here and feel like I've been there for 1 hour. You will find something for everyone. Books, jewelry, dishes, blankets and sheets, car mats and wiper blades, shoes, jackets, furniture, well you get the idea, I won't list anymore lol but the list goes on and on. You pay by the pound for clothing and large items are usually a set price like $4.99 or something reasonable like that. You will always get a good deal here. The staff ladies at the registers are super nice and welcoming, always greeting you with a smile and kind word. If you are on a budget, this is the place to go.
      Katie
    • This location is just like the one in South Austin it also shows favouritism to resellers. Rather than making sure that all customers have shopping cart availability they allow the resellers to take and fill up shopping carts line them up along a backwall and do nothing about the fac that they have other customers in the building. This should not be allowed. One shopping cart per family is what it should be. There should not Is the shopping cart stacked along a wall full of merchandise. If these people really want the merchandise they should be purchasing it and taking it to their vehicle. By allowing the reseller to keep shopping carts you make them unavailable to others. You then have customers who much carry their items in their arms. This is not fair.

    • I love it. I will admit it's an addiction! The staff is super nice and helpful! Have been there like 8 times now and I've never had a negative experience! And the deals are , you have to dig but they definitely have some great stuff!

    • This place is always full of people, i will no advice to bring small children. They act like animals when there is new bins coming out. There is a group of Africans guys that are very rude and aggressive they never leave the store. Customer service is ok.
      Max
    • Wish this location would enforce their rules and policies. Many people will take 3 to 5 baskets and fill them completely and then put a tarp or blanket over it. These people camp out for hours so you can never get a basket. I understand these people probably sell at flea markets but weird that the staff doesn't do anything other than announce things on the loud speaker that no one follows.
      Mark
    • Very quick rotation times, loved the loud and sassy cashiers who did good for having to deal with the type of customers that were there. Bin contents were kinda inconsistent each rotation as far as the type of items coming out and how much were in each but either way made for a fun shopping experience! Only thing I wish was different is not let kids in. Knee'd one in the face turning around and tripped over another because parents put them in front of a phone and don't watch them.

    • It was a little chaos but once you get cashed out everything is fine it's a weighing system that they do by weight and everything is only way not priced any other way it was a different experience that I had I got some really great stuff

    • Went late in the day so it could be why. Selection was not good. Have been to other locations and this has to be the worst selection wise.
      Lilia
    • This is a Goodwill Outlet Store. It's the end of the line for merrchandise that doesn't sell at Goodwill Select Stores. I visited the store at 3:00 on a Monday afternoon. The place was a madhouse. Clothing is dumped into long bins and 100 people are picking through it at the same time. If you have a large family, are on a limited budget and have patience this is a great place to pick up bargains.
      Rod
    • I visited the store for the first time today I was able to find some shirts in good condition but let me tell you the people act like its the end of the world. They will push you, can't even say excuse me or sorry. All for used items! The elders are the worst they act like kids running for candy. It's ridiculous. If you have zero patience I do not recommend coming here

    • This store is terrible. Their merchandise is dirty or worned out. Terrible manager as well. Clerk behind the cash register was upset that I bought some shoes that she was trying to hide for herself, so she bumped up the price. I should have left them, because the bebe heels fell apart when I got home. Dry rotted!!! I will never go to this outlet again.
      Richard
    • I recommend it? Yes, but you have to go with patience to search... if you have many things that are not really useful but searching if you can find things of interest to you... clothes and shoes cost 2.19 a pound and toys, decoration and bags cost 1.19
      Jeanet
    • FYI: an outlet type store, items sold by the pound, weighed when you check out. Lots of stuff in huge rolling tubs to dig thru. Also has a used computer, all sorts of electronics room adjacent to main store. Bargains galore; truly worth a visit.

    • I went here yesterday i found alot of good things but they charge per pound they make you put the cart with the stuff in it and weight everything which it makes it so expensive they were charging me 150 dlls for my cart i am sure they don't even take out the weight of the cart. I had to leave alot of things since I wanted them to resell and it wasn't going to be worth it. I am honestly never going back I prefer to go to a yard sale or other place where I can find the same things for less. You also spend so much time by having to search for things in the bins. When I went they were putting "new" items in and people would run and grab everything didn't care if they would push.

    • Not sure about the other complaints, but my mom really loves this new place, or any Goodwill outlet. I read her some comments about the lack of A/C, the heat, terrible parking lot. She said it's all true, but she still loves it because she can browse and find tons of great stuff for super cheap.

    • I was pleasantly surprised! Although it can get a little "peoply"! And by that I mean people will pull up right next to you and dig and through stuff around! My 1st day there parking lot packed too! Dress cool because it gets warm even though the huge fans in ceiling did a good job.

    • This place is a hostile place for new comers. The people who have been shopping over there fights for stuff and if you are a new person be sure to have a friend that has been shopping there for a long time. The people curse and fight and make fun of you. Most of the people do not even speak English and so if you try to explain to them some thing you are in bad luck. Seriously it is one of the worst places ever to be in and the workers side with the people they know who come over there from time to time. It is an unsafe place and the management seems to not care. It is strange that good will has this place so unsafe as it is against its own reputation. Whether it is outlet or not the people should be protected. I firmly believe that this is an injustice to all the people who are to be safe while they shop. It is too uncivilized. I please ask the management to take steps for the safety of the people. Please do not allow this unsafe practices with the customers who come to shop in there.
      Philip
    • I agree with some other reviewers that being here for the first time you would get a little horrified. Things are just packing on bins with questionable hygiene conditions. However, when I saw how they charge, I began to think this as a scavenger hunt so still a very interesting shopping experience. You kinda have to dig to find the stuff. I realized that charging by weights are not exactly that cheap if you look for heavy stuff like winter coats. The staff did organize the stuff into different bins, but overtime they got messed up. I found children' cloths are usually in better shape than adults. Also they do have newer stuff on home decorations (especially holiday ones), table cloth, sheets, and curtains. If you wanna buy affordable adults' cloths, I think there are better choice at this price.
      Wen
    • I was hesitant to give this place a try at first because of the way its set up and how they do business. I couldn't be more satisfied with it though. It's exciting and hard to leave. The deals you find are amazing, some real treasures have been found here. I love this place.

    • I found some really great clothing and ikea dishware for the low. P.S. I also copped a pair of damn near never worn ASICS for $1 in the bins. Definitely worth a visit if you have time to sift through heaps of miscellaneous items for a few hrs.
      Mikael
    • I like this location so I am willing to drive 35 minutes away for the good deals on the outlet section, however I feel like the store is over-priced- as are all the Dallas Goodwills (I am a frequent thrifter and these prices are too high comparatively). I don't like how they make you wait in one side while they put out new stuff- but I suppose that is a logistics problem. There are many very serious deal hunters ready to rush in and take over space to grab the best things fast. I don't care for this race, but the employees are nice and the deals can be good.

    • I like the prices here and the hunt. The staff is great. The only downside is those rude people that block the restrooms and act like they live there. Bring gloves and a mask. When the bins come out its go time( just don't lose an arm). Also I would advise not to take your kids. It gets hectic.
      Mario
    • First time visiting here, and I'm not sure what to make of it. You pay by the pound instead of per item. The customers you encounter are much like piranhas, or vultures. They post up on one end of the sales floor waiting for new bins to be rolled out. When that happens, they all rush to bins, and start shoveling anything and everything into storage containers. Then they shuffle back over to a corner and rifle through everything they just got, putting back anything they don't want. Be expecting to get cussed at. Ok items I guess. Seems mostly like stuff they wouldn't waste their time selling in the typical Goodwill.

    • Introduced my cousin to this place and we both had a great time. The place is not as clean as other goodwill outlets but it was still fun and found some cool things. The downside was the group of people that hang out by the walls and especially ones basically blocking the bathrooms... also found them to be more aggressive when the new bins come out. I know its whoever gets the item first but the few times we went there and them being there the entire time with multiple carts is annoying. Otherwise friendly staff. Thank you

    • I would give zero stars. Buyer beware, the cashier of the outlet store will follow you and tell you what you can and can not purchase eventhough you pull it from the bin on the sales floor. If he feels you have something that he wants or the workers have neglected to keep from the bins before the merchandise reaches the sales floor it will be taken from you and reason given - store policy. Nowhere else in another outlet store is a policy posted of purchases made at cashier discretion.
      Carla
    • Just went to the Goodwill outlet in Harker Heights tried to buy a footstool and a dresser and was told I couldn't buy it from there I had to wait until the main store opened in order to purchase then why in the world with the outlet store be holding furniture with price tags that I just bought a dresser from there this weekend without having to go to the main store if I could leave zero stars I would .

    • I go every couple weeks and don't take this as serious as some other people who go religiously and sit there the whole day. Don't like the part when everyone sits and waits until new bins are rolled in and everyone rushes and grabs ish like crazy. Animal vibes. The problem is you gotta hustle if you're not smart and don't have brand knowledge and just look for Louis bags or Nike. But that's when I come in and take the good items others miss. For example today found a Stephen Dweck necklace that sold on eBay for $650, Ferragamo loafers, a Shamask linen coat etc. My advice is look through everything carefully and don't hesitate to look up brands you don't know- most likely you're missing out just buying mainstream brands.

    • My five stars are for the employees who try and maintain some sense of civility in the store while being harassed, cursed out and physically threatened by the same group of customers over and over when they are asked to follow simple safety rules. The same people that other reviewers are criticizing (for doing their jobs) are the very reason I continue to shop at this location. They are kind, helpful, professional, and make me and my children feel safe when I'm here simply because they look out for the safety of everyone equally, even those that treat them and other shoppers so horribly. I've seen people like this group of regulars thrown out of other outlets for less offensive behavior than they display at the Cypress Outlet, and I hope the same thing happens to them before someone is seriously injured by their aggressive actions.

    • This particular place is so good and above all of the others I've ever been to I'm almost afraid to tell anyone as fear to them finding out and Even more competition Showing up but it is a very good no the best goodwill you ever go to the employees Especially the managers keep things regulated and still are super nice, the items coming out are incredible, and anyone can make a Living just at this one store. There are many examples but there's one here right now leaving a five star review I'll end with this I definitely recommend anyone giving this particular Goodwill outlet a try that is if you're not already there As my competition

    • I've found a lot of great stuff here and I mean high money items. I mean just today I grabbed 10 Hermes scarves so it's definitely lit in this store. At the same time it's a group of resellers that's aggressive AF. They'll get real close to you and damn near knock you down to get to stuff they want. I had to ask one of em standing next to me 1 time to not knock me down. The managers and security guard do try yell the rules but it doesn't matter. The resellers just get friendly with all the workers and they're able to get away with doing what they do. I love the store but I just hate the aggression.

    • Clean new OUTLET (bins) store! Price per lb of CLOTHES is $2.19 (under 50 lbs) at the time of this review (Feb 2022). If you get over 50 lbs of clothes, it's $1.79 per lb. The TIE point is about 42 lbs. If you're that close to 51, you might as well fill up your cart with the extra 9 lbs - it's basically free. The math: $2.19 x 42 = $91.98 vs $1.79 x 51 = $91.29 That just means paying for 42 lbs of clothes is almost the same as paying for 51 lbs of clothes. Good luck!

Price per pound & rules in Texas

Every Texas outlet weighs your haul at the register. Rates are set per Goodwill region rather than per store, and bulk thresholds (25 lb / 50 lb) lower the rate. Books, furniture and electronics are usually priced per piece. Bring gloves, wait behind the line during rotations, and keep small children out of the bins — the listed rules for each outlet are on its page.
