“The Black Hills are my favorite. There’s just a special kind of magic that lives in those Hills.” In 2017, we took a trip to Yellowstone. I got to chatting with one of the clerks that worked at the convenience store, and I found out her and her husband travel to national parks all around the country. When I asked her what her favorite place was, that is what she told me. I grew up returning to the Hills many times as I was younger, but I couldn’t fully capture its splendor until we had officially moved there in 2021. You, the people, are so much of what makes the Black Hills so spectacular. And when we first opened our doors to you, it was the beginning of something bigger than we imagined. Not only did we all build the business together, but you walked with us through the growth of our family, the ups and downs of business, and in the depth of our darkest hour. The support we received from you when Nathan was hit, even from Colorado, means more to my family than I will ever be able to articulate. It’s taken me a long time to process and let go of what our lives look like now compared to what I thought they’d be. I’ve finally accepted that God’s plans truly are better than ours, but I want you all to know I think of you every day. The business we had was so much more than a store, and you all were so much more than just customers. The doors to our store may be closed, but that doesn’t mean that our hearts are closed to entrepreneurship and the next step in our journey. It would be an honor to have you join us on our personal journey page, @takecourage.collective. We just recently shared an announcement there that I think you’ll love. The Hills will always have the most special place in our hearts, and who knows, there may be a time that we return. But for now, we are thankful for another day and another opportunity to build something new. Same heart, same passion, just a new adventure. Black Hills, we love you.

We have some really exciting news to share with you all! Even better, 2 THINGS! 1. Do y’all remember Mellissa?! She is embarking on a new venture with her family, Daisy’s Doolittle Diner Food Truck. They will be opening soon and would love to see all of you there! I will attach a picture of their page in the comments. 2. I will be sharing our news over on Take Courage Collective TONIGHT at 8 PM! I will also tag that page in the comments. Love and miss you all so much, I hope that you’ve been well! It means so much that we get to stay in contact. See you soon!
