Questions, corrections, closures and new stores all come through here. Listing changes are verified before they go live.
What to include
Every change is checked against a source before it goes live, so the fastest messages are the ones that carry the source with them. The directory currently holds 464 open stores across 48 states, last refreshed August 2026; here is what each kind of report needs.
Reporting a closure
Send the store name, the city and, if you have it, the date it closed and where you saw it announced — a Facebook post, a local news item or a Google listing marked permanently closed. A closed store keeps its page as a record but is taken out of search results and the sitemap, and it stops counting toward the open-store totals.
If a store has only been reported closed and we cannot reach anyone, the page says so rather than asserting it.
Correcting prices or hours
Give the full weekly picture rather than the single day that is wrong: the price for each day of the week, which days you are closed, and the day the bins are refilled. Hours should include any days the store opens late or shuts early. We publish the ladder exactly as the store states it, so a partial answer stays partial on the page.
Price changes made mid-week are published at the next refresh, not instantly.
Adding a new store
Use the submission form instead of this one — it asks for the address, phone, opening hours, weekday prices, restock day and links in the order a listing needs them, which saves a round trip. New stores are checked against the store's own website or social page before they are published.
Opening soon? Send the opening date and we will list it once the doors are open.
Everything else
Questions about how a figure in a guide was computed, requests to use our data, press enquiries and advertising all come to the same address. Every number on the site is generated from the directory dataset by a script on each build, so we can usually tell you exactly which records produced a figure.
Advertising terms are on the advertise page.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a listing change take?
Corrections that come with a link we can check — the store's own website, Facebook post or Google listing — are usually applied in the next data refresh. Changes with no source take longer, because we have to find one before we can publish it.
Can you remove my store from the directory?
Yes. Email hello@discountbinstores.com from an address connected to the business, or use the form with the store name and city, and we will take the page down and add the slug to our exclusion list so it is not re-added on the next crawl.
My prices changed. What do you need?
The full Monday-to-Sunday ladder, including any days you are closed, and the day you restock. Partial ladders are published as partial ladders, which is why some store pages show blank days.
Do you sell listings or take payment for placement?
No. Placement in the directory is not for sale and never affects ordering. Advertising is separate and clearly labelled — see the advertise page for what is available.
